Yamaha F280 Acoustic Guitar

Overall good guitar

It is a sprice veneer top and the back and sides are polished laminates,it comes with 12 gauge strings installed likely 80/20 bronze from their colour, also comes with an allen key. The packaging is single box with the guitar in a plastic bag inside. No dents, the neck action was good, saddle and bridge were also in good shape , the fret werent sharp and are easy to play on. Only thing is that it has some superficial chipping on the top side nothing damaging to sound but still its a bit chipped.

Affordable, average quality, Acoustic guitar for beginners.

Yamaha has done a great job by manufacturing this decent, entry level dreadnought acoustic guitar aimed at the beginner level.I have been using the Yamaha F210 (very old model, purchased back in 2014) and did a quick comparison between the two. F280 produces a crispy and resonant sound almost similar to its higher priced brothers in the entry level segment, but lacks detailing in its design. The finishing is also not upto the mark and uses a black matte paint for binding the edges with slight imperfections(pictures shown) instead of layering. If you are on a tight budget, you may go for it, but if detailing and better tone is a concern, then the F310 will be a good choice.Overall, it is the best choice among acoustic guitars at this price. Also for buyers, I suggest you to buy a guitar case for storage and prevent contact with moisture as it can affect the sound quality in the long run.Edit after 1 month usage: I find Yamaha guitars manufactured now in India are not upto the mark regarding quality(My old F210 was manufactured in Indonesia). The black paint used to bind the edges have started fading off (pictures attached), which were not encountered in the F210 even after years of usage.
